in a previous posting it was said +- that at a point in SCCA you could have
whatever fit under the fenders without flares and that this sort of kept
things (cost) in check, I was once told by a reliable old timer that flared
fenders were finally allowed because a trend evolved to effectively tub the
cars to get wider tires within the original fenders...... they then allowed
fender flares because that was within reach of those without the skills and
deep pockets to modify the inner portion of the wheel well...........is this
accurate?......chuck
