The Oregon Region SCCA Vintage group does allow 1275 bugeyes and the
Portland Historics http://www.portlandhistorics.co has been known to
grudgingly allow them too (so ask first if entering that event). I believe
SOVREN prefers 948's in a bugeye but I know some SOVREN members who show up
at Oregon Region events with 1275s.

I run a 67 Sprite, the first full production year with the 1275 but catch
some flak from various organizations because it has a Weber instead of SUs.

Several of the bugeyes that run up here in the NW have Disc brake
conversions, some on the rear as well as the front. I also know of a few
Spridgets with the spitfire and MGB front brake conversion which provides a
noticeable competitive advantage but I've yet to see a tech inspection catch
it.
