Do the early TR2's (Long Doors) use a plate fixed to the front  apron 
(similar to the TR3's) to support the bottom end of the bonnet prop  rod? 
 
We're finishing a TR2 long door which was partially assembled by the  
previous owner.  We don't have photos or enough info from the Bill Piggott  
books to 
figure out how the bottom end of the prop rod is supposed to  secure.....other 
than sticking it in the bonnet release hole.   Also interesting is that there 
is a safety latch on the bonnet at the top  end of the prop rod but there's 
no "mate" for it to latch to??
