[6pack] 74 TR6 charging issue

Not sure my answer will help much but maybe you have a gremlin alternator. The new one that is. 

I had my light come on, had the alternator tested (while the engine running) by a specialty shop that rebuilds (meaning not a clueless high school kid at a major chain store) and was told it was fine. Hmmm. 
I do recall the light coming on once and a while and I think it was on during testing. 
Anyway, I installed a bosch alternator I located for our cars and problem solved. Even though the old one tested fine. Go figure. It must have been barely hanging in there.
