[Roadsters] stuck in reverse

Larry,
I think you may have broken a roll pin that holds the fork on the shift rod.
It may still engage other gears, but the shift fork on the reverse gear may 
be in reverse when it broke.
It could explain why the shift lever moves to neutral but not disengage 
reverse.
