Hi Greg & Trish,

Thanks for the kind words. You were a lucky 17 year old that got to drive a
nice Jag. I was a 9 year old kid in Finland in 1950 when a rich car dealer
imported the first 120 to race. Our family was out for a Sunday walk, when I
heard it behind me, then saw it go by, and smelled the aroma of whatever
they were burning. He didn't win the race, but his car won my heart, and
when I was 19 I bought mine. It was already old and clapped out, but I
drove it for about 4 years without putting up the rag (literally) top. I
sold it when I was getting married the first time, to a l7 year old and his
British mother, but it came back with the father the following day, who
demanded the money back or he would sue, as he hadn't been in on the deal.
My dad, who was already 65, said he always loved that car, and bought it for
a small song, drove it lots of places (Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles among
others), drove is locally, often while somewhat inebriated, and wrecked it
once with the sun in his eyes, and wine in his brain, had some really cheap
body work done, but kept driving it. When he died in 1974, it sat at my
moms house until 1986 when I towed it home. In the meantime, I had divorced
and remarried, our son came along, so it sat for another 10 years until I
started working on it. It's been on the road about 6 years now, but it's
only been about 3 years that we've become involved with some events, and
it's surely high time! There were a couple of times I could have used that
bulldog though, when Lucas gremlins (in its prior life with me) left me by
the side of the road... Anyway, we look forward we look forward to spending
time and miles with nobbc and you all.
