It sounds like your friend is lacking in the skill of driving to tear up any
car. Maybe he should just park the car  at the beginning of this road and
drive a tractor back to his house.

As for the HUD, I'm interested in just the speed that I'm going, not the
Tach or of the other things that you can display in that box. You can dim
the box and move it out of your line of sight or even shut it off. My point
is Ford is asking way too much for a stripped down car compared to other
things that are out there for the same amount of money.

Look at our SHO's. Mine is a 95 and every month someone is posting a message
that Ford isn't carrying this part or that part, fuel pumps, the DIS is
here, then it's not, then it's back. Power steering pump is hard to get.
I've got 90K on my SHO. In three years will I have to junk it because I
can't find any major part that I need? Some of the other cars are not like
that and you can get parts for them even if they are 10 - 18 years old.
