[Shotimes] Hood question

I've seen two delaminated plastic hoods on junked cars. Both SHOs had
evidence of minor front end damage involving the front lip of the hood. Ford
used the same design approach on the 95 Windstars as the plastic SHO hood.
Our Windstar, an early March '94 build date, was recalled to reinforce the
front lip bonded joint because of delamination problems. The recall letter
mentioned that the joint would fail with minor collision damage or cracks at
the seam. If the joint was found to be cracked the hood would be replaced.
If not cracked, as in our case, the joint was reinforced with a 2 part resin
squirted inside the inner and outer parts against the seam.

That Ford recall kit that should work on the SHO plastic.

BTW, I measured up the Windstar hood to see if it could be modified for the
Gen II SHO. Not practical as the length, width and compound crown was very
different. Now maybe if the Gen I vs. Gen II hood hard points are common,
then the inner plastic frame with a new fabricated outside (carbon fiber??)
skin would make a nice mod for a Gen II.
