If it only will do it with the O/D on, maybe a electrical problem. Run the
codes and see if you get any 600 series codes. You have a lot of miles on it
too!! So maybe just old age? Make sure you run overfull on the fluid level
by about 5/8" or so. Seems to help keep the pickup covered.
