Spending some time w/ the EEC tuner looking at the spark values based on
ECT is interesting. Some more there for you when the coolant is cooler.
I'd guess the gen3 cars are maybe the same as well.

I've found on my 89 I can usually get a good ET with a cold/cool motor, but
have found MPH tends to suffer a bit, probably due to the oil and trans
fluid not being warmed up. The runs I made back to back on a warm day, with
everything at full temp (even hot) with the current n20 jetting I run, have
run in the traps in the 109 range. With the car cool, can run quicker ET,
but mph is down 2-3 mph on the big end.

What's interesting is the HUGE ET/mph range runs run from cool air to warm
air (ie what you ran recently and what you ran at the convention). At the
convention, my 89 was only 2 tenths and less than 2 mph off it's best all
time run (in 40 degree air). Even after consecutive runs, with the motor
heat soaked and the engine temp up to 210, I had my best mph n/a of the day,
only 1 mph less than I've ever ran in much cooler air. My 92 is a dog in
warm air though.
