It's really best to use a dyno to quantify these things.  There are too many
variables involved in drag racing to use it as a good indicator of
mod-related performance increases.  I'm sure you could have left your car
stock and gotten your ETs into the 14.8 range with a little practice,
tweaking and cooler temps.  Also, if anything, use MPH as your guide, not
ET.  MPH is a much more reliable when it comes to measuring HP.

Another option is to use timed, one gear only runs using a stopwatch, say
from 20 to 70 in second gear.  If you do this on the same road in roughly
the same weather, it should be pretty consistent.  This is known as the Don
McKinnon method of performance measurement.  :)
