I know I'll get flamed again if I write anymore, but the sentence above
pretty much says it all as far as my work on my SHO goes. Because of
this kind of attitude and understanding of the car AND willingness to
help goes, I'll continue to pump money and time and brain energy into my
SHO, just to keep it running and eventually add a few mods to the car!
Later,
Kerry

Yeah, the non-standard sizes are available last time I checked when I
ordered my standard size rod bearings. When I went to do mine, Napa was
out
of stock and said they couldn't get any in for about a month. I had to
hunt
all around Portland to find some at a place that didn't want to charge
me a
ton for them.

Don't worry about it. I and many others on the list are the same way
when
we attempt to do something for the first time on our SHOs. They are our
babies, and we want to make sure we don't do anything to screw them up!
BTW, after Plastigauging the first journal and finding it was right in
spec,
I didn't bother on the other ones since it is kind of a PITA and I was
running out of time. Obviously everything is okay, since I took the car
out
to PIR right after finishing the job and raced it all day. 15,000 miles
and
no problems. Even the oil analyses I've sent in look excellent!
In your case, I would probably Plastigauge them all, since you can
actually
hear them knocking - something I didn't. I would have checked the
tolerances on all of them if I wasn't running short on time.
