[Shotimes] TPS Fault Code

I fought this problem on my 93 ATX. It seems to be car related. Some cars
are picky about what part number is on the TPS. My local parts store had 3
separate listings for TPS. They all worked OK as far as driving the car but
I would still get check engine lights.
To finally solve it, I got the part number off the original TPS and matched
it up. No more check engine light! Do you still have the factory unit?
It's possible that you have corrosion at a connection somewhere too. Do you
have a meter so you can check voltages and resistance?
