For a track/toy car, you either (1. cheap out and start with a dirt cheap
car like the SHO and put some bucks in and go play or..2) spend the $$ up
front and start with a better base/faster car/better chassis and don't put
as much $$ in it.

Either way, speed/weekend track car hobby costs $$!

The SHO has good power for what you pay for a used one, which is where it's
advantage come in. And can be made to handle and stop for not too much $$.
But if you want a seriously fast car, then it costs a bunch of $$, and I'm
not sure how well a 450 hp SHO would do on nothing more than 8" wheels and
245 tires. (let alone reliabilty, etc)

So I should probably re-phrase my original statement, and say the SHO is
probably the cheapest sub 300 hp car (and have a nice balanced reliable
package) you can build for a weekend track toy :)

There are a lot better chassis' to start with, but most cheap ones don't
have any power.
