[Shotimes] Strange stereo/electrical problem

Well for starters it's always best to have the shortest grounds. The
shorter the better. If the AMP is in the trunk, grounding under the dash is
way too far. Where are you picking up the 12v? My first thought was that
you are picking up the 12v somewhere that can't supply the load needed for
the amp. Maybe it's on something with a relay or a breaker. If it's a
small amp the factory power wire should suffice, if not then you must go
directly to the battery with a fuse as close to the battery as possible and
with a sufficient wire. What brand amp and what is its power rating?
