Then again, there is the pinging that can be heard. My SHO has always run just fine except on 87 gas. It will ping (without being lugged) but runs perfectly fine on the 92 we get around here. 87 may work fine on some SHOs but not all.

Just remember that the knock sensor works on a sound frequency. Pinging can
be heard over the sound of open headers (BTDT)!!
