Thats what hate about doing upgrades to stock headlamps. You add something that will promise
something and you get 60-70% of it if you are lucky.

Add a higher wattage 9007 bulb: voltage drop in contact areas ===> less light out
Add a higher wattage 9007 bulb: pitting/fogging in front glass stops light ===> less light out

Unless you crimp or high temp solder the wires directly to bulb and use relayed harness, I'd say stay away from overwattage bulbs. Some of u mentioned troubles with headlight switch. The "high/low/pass" multifunction stalk switch is also vonouroble. Wires in looms will normally not break, they will get warmer - maybe not noticable with bare hand, but a thermometer shows the diffrence. They are like 16 gauge or something rediculus. Higer wattage bulbs requries 12 gauge.

Many people have spend so much money trying out evry brans and model of trendy headlight bulbs, only to find out that difference is so minor. Save your money and buy Sylvania X1010 which designed for cars made in Detroit with poor lighting and should mount up without too much trouble into fog light openings. They are down from $599 to $389. They are not world class performance, but they will make a big difference.
