Is there anything really wrong with driving "just a Taurus"? I get that all
the time from friends that laugh at my love for my car. Then they promptly
shut the hell up when I spank thier brand new Eclipse, or CivicSi. There was
a post I responded to in the eclipse forums about someone knocking Taurii,
and by the time I read the post and responded people came back with that
"its just a taurus" shit. Well one eclipse guy came back and posted to
ignore the stupid rice coments like "its just a taurus" and "well at the end
of the day mine looks better", and he had genuine respect for a SHO and the
potential they have. We then talked about quaife's and how they haven't been
able to get one designed yet and so on. Just seems that some ppl out there
in the world of each particular type of car niche are genuinely interested
in the car and hold respect for other cars out there and other thoughts. I
drive one of the best selling cars in american history, I'm proud to drive
it, I enjoy the friends I'm making via the community, and I certainly love
the insurance rates, being single/white/male/27/with a less than perfect
driving record, oh yeah and that it is quite fast yet dosen't scream hey
look at me. I wouldn't give up my SHO for any reason, even if someone threw
me the keys to something else. When all is said and done, I love my car, I
love the engine, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And I'm not even
putting out 420hp yet, but when I get my car to that point I'll love it even
more.

> So turbo = rice in your opinion? Curious. I will let the next TT Porsche
owner I see know that. Oh, it comes with a turbo stock, so that doesn't
matter? Then the guys that spends tons to turbo thier Vipers, Vettes and
Mustangs. And no...I will not learn...because I learned a long time ago
that I will never have the quickest/cheapest car. Heck, for a few thousand
you can build a Fastiva that does 10's. 'At the end of the day, you are
still driving a Festiva' blah blah blah. Sorry, but the ONLY BMW's that
have any appeal to me are from the last few years. I would LOVE a late
model M3 or M5, no doubt, but even at 27 with an immaculate driving record,
the insurance would kill me, and there is no way I could afford the purchase
price on a firefighter salary. And don't worry Ron, impressing you, or
anyone, is not my agenda. I got the car because I love the SHO. At the end
of the day, I see no disgrace in driving a Taurus. BTW, are you saying you
have got around to app!
> reciating a good, quality product? And how many SHO's do you own? Again,
curious. Plus, all the BMW and Porsche meets I have been to make me want to
pull my hair out. Most of those elitists (not all I know) have nothing on
the SHO community, and that will keep me coming back long after I have
'grown to appreciate a good, quality product'.
