I did the drain plug mod about two years ago at a SHO meet, and installed
the D4. I was worried I wasn't going to make it home with the D4 in there,
although it did get *slightly* better. The next day I installed Mobil 1
ATF, which made it shift about like the regular ATF. This Mobil 1 has been
in there for two years now and close to 40K.
I am thinking about trying that GM Syncromesh stuff though before I give up
on the trans. Is this stuff synthetic? Do I just go to the GM dealer and
ask for "GM Syncromesh," or is it called something else? What should I
expect to pay for 3 quarts?
Thanks a lot!
