U-haul has a selection of hitches that fit the SHO. get the
receiver style, they give you more flexability and you can
remove the ball when done. They have two styles.
1. Hangs down normally, ball mount slides straight in,
won't require cutting of the rear bumper cover.
2. Mounts up under the bumper, ball mount receiver is at an
angle, and ball mount has a bend in it. Slide the mount up
and into the angled receiver, then the mount comes down and
then bends straight back. This type has the advantage of
being virtually invisible when you don't have the ball mount
in. BUT, it is also harder to get the ball mount in there.
Cost is under $200 I think for either one, close to $200
with installation and mount.
U-haul install quality is all over the board. We have a
good shop in Peoria, IL, but some of them really have given
people bad experiences. Check out the shop.
You could also check with a local big camper trailer sales
outfit. They should be able to get the hitch and install
it, probably cost more, and quality is also all over the
board, but usually better since they are usually locally owned.
Since you have an ATX, I HIGHLY recommend you install a
tranny cooler before towing any distance. Going 20 miles?
OK, but hundreds of miles even in winter, you might want to
get a cooler. I had mine put on by a local Ford dealer I
trusted.
