[Shotimes] Buzzing/grinding on startup

I took that belt off during the Miami/Virginia Tech game at about 30
degrees, checking for bad pulley bearings, and it wasn't real fun to
contortion my hand up in there to loosen the tensioner. At the current 0 to
5 degrees, I think I'll hold my nose and let it fart!

The Lowrider's noise is obviously not temperature related and the rest of
our car's noises only happen under 30 degrees. If anyone else out there is
experiencing a noise similar to what we're trying to describe, and it's not
temperature related, please respond. Curious if Marlene is out there; does
SnowWind have this noise?

That's what the Lowrider does. It sounds distantly like a fart, but a kazoo
sounds
even more reasonable. A way to determine if it is the PS pump is to remove
the belt
the night before, and let it cold soak all night. Then start it up and see
if it
does it. Let it run for a minute or so, then shut it down and retighen the
belt.
See if it will do it then. If it does, then it is the PS system.

I'm not that concerned about the Lowrider....if it wants to talk to me when
it
starts, more power to it. It'll be retiring soon. Everything works fine
after it
is warmed up.
