I think you have to enjoy road racing to enjoy watching road racing.  Yes,
the oval races have exciting finishes, but beyond those last 10 laps,
they're boring, unless you're sitting there hoping to see a huge wreck.
Besides, it takes a lot more talent to be a good road or street course racer
than it does a high downforce, foot to the floor all the time oval racer.

CART road races are much improved this year with the absence of traction
control.  Those cars are awesome to watch , especially coming out on cold
tires trying to keep up with guys on hot tires.  They're twitching and
sliding all over the place.

The IRL has already said they'll be adding a couple road courses in '05.  If
CART dies, they'll probably add more than that.  So it won't be a total loss
either way I suppose.
