[Shotimes] OT - IRL Gen 4 Chevy, NOT!

Whoa Kemosabe (sp)

I don't think I EVER said that a Buick person would NEVER
own a Pontiac ETc. Yes there are some people that feel this
way, but I don't feel that way, and never said that all
people feel this way. incorrect quote that should not be
attributed to me.

It wasn't Ford's motor. You need to get that through your
brain. From what I heard, Cosworth had been working on this
upgrade to the GM motor and GM finally bit the bullet and
bought it. You don't think that Toyota and Honda built new
from the ground up motors do you? They used motors built on
specs that everyone uses, and on a history that has been
cribbed from Cosworth, GM, etc, etc.

There isn't much new in racing and hasn 't been for about 50
years! It is all a variation on a theme.

You need to realize that while Ford owns Cosworth, Cosworth
remains an independent engineering firm, otherwise they
would lose 95% of their business tomorrow. They work on
projects for GM, the same way they work on projects for Ford
and other customers. One at a time, keeping projects
separated and certain proprietary information secret from
the various customers, even Ford.
