I could be completely wrong, but I believe that the MT5 had the running
gears found in the Tempo/Topaz.  The 2.3L isn't the 2.3L found in
Mustang/T-Bird/Ranger, it's a 2.3 HSC (German Design ?) no parts are common.
Tranny is an MTX-III ??  Escort varity ...

Was wondering if the MT5 4 banger wasn't the same block as the Turbo T-Bird
and the 'Stang SVO?

Maybe you could get the turbo parts, turn up the pressure and have a 5 speed
that would be quicker than a slightly modded SHO?

Suspension parts and mods would be the same.
