[Shotimes] Center Cap ?s

Hello Shotimers.

This might be a stupid question.

I rotated my tires and thought it might look cool to leave the center caps off, plus it might save my rims from dings.
I use a flathead with electrical tape but sometimes I still ding them up taking off the caps.

Can I leave them off with out effecting anything?  Is it ok?  I thought maybe exposing the spindle bolt threads might be bad?
