Since I am in the rust belt (Iowa), concensus seems to be to undo the wiring
harness. I'll update you all when I'm done, drilled out, and all put back.
This little project has been going on since Wednesday so far, and I'm
starting to wish I had trailered it home the 20 miles instead of working on
it in the parking lot at work every lunch hour and free evening.

There's no point in removing it. Just unplug it from under the back seat
and leave it in the spindle.

Probably RUSTED in there (remember what that is George?) as there is
nothing but the little bolt to hold it otherwise. Time for the
penetrant, maybe a _little_ heat, a little cursing, etc.
