[Shotimes] More details about oil pressure...

Low oil pressure could come from a variety of areas including bad bearings or heavily worn bearings. It certainly wouldnt hurt to take the oil pan off and check your bearings esp if u suspect a problem.

Example : My old SUPER SHO motor that Phil S bought ... had only 15 k on the new re-build but I had always marginal oil pressure as you are indicating.

He took the oil pan off to investagate this and found lots of cooper.

His new bearings were shot ( dont know why ) and he replaced them. Oil pressure shot way up to were it should be.

On my motor that I built with a new 3.0 oil pump and only 70 k on the 3.2 block , my oil pressure at idle is 13 to 15. My PSI at speed .. say doing 80 ( 3100 rpms ) is about 47 psi.
