Few well respected HC tips to try:
1. GM top engine cleaner - especially with 246k miles - the "smoke
screen" method - clears out the old carbon
2. Pull octane adjust plug under rad hose / cruise control - retards
timing 10 degrees - or spout plug
3. Keep convertors hot just before test - 2 min at 2500
4. If it is a dyno test, talk operator into running it in one lower
gear, not to upshift to 2nd(?) - keep revs near 3000 - they bogged mine
down to 1200
My 89 passed w/ 250k on the original O2 sensors & convertors!
