Mine was intermittent at first, too. It always occurred after applying the
brakes, never spontaneously by itself. Early on, the brake pedal sometimes
returned to its normal position all by itself. However, when the brakes
were dragging it was definitely noticeable (as if I released the drag chute)
and my immediate reaction was to stop the car and see what was wrong. When
my foot did not find the brake pedal at its normal position - bingo. I
never drove the car at speed, without knowing the brakes were dragging and
therby heating them up. I noticed right away when my parking brake wasn't
fully releasing and when my left rear caliper was frozen. If the booster
was causing all 4 brakes to only slightly drag you'd have to notice a
difference.
