Well, I painted everything once I cut into it. I did a
fuel pump swap that took all day-dropping the tank,
banging it into place, nearly breaking the bolts and
the straps, gagging on the fumes, worrying that if I
banged the tank into something one more time it might
spark and ignite fumes. 2+ years later and no rust.
When I cut the hole in my floor, I smelled fuel the
next day. It turns out that I didn't install the O
ring properly. Took me 10 minutes to fix the problem
and I didn't get dirty.
I dunno-I am 6'5' and 280 lbs +/- with a bad back.
It's not very easy or pleasureable for me to writhe
around under my car, esp. as the weather gets colder
and I don't have a garage. I want one of those lift
contraptions that flip the car upside so you can work
on the bottom without getting dirty. :)
