ATAN stands for Avionics Technician Airman. It means that I repair all of
the technical equipment from planes, ie. radars, radios, TACANs, fire
control systems, stuff like that. Fun job; I sit in an air-conditioned shop
all day long and basically let our big gay blue machines do all the work. 

It used to be that back in the good ol' days of the military being highly
underpaid, you needed to be an E-4 before you could really afford to take on
the financial responsibilities of a car. Nowadays, though, I make enough so
that it isn't a problem. Not that I make a whole lot - the figure is
referenced elsewhere - but I live on the ship, so food, utilities and
lodging are all paid for. My only expenditures are a cellphone bill,
insurance, car payments, and the rest is all liquid assets. Yee-haw!

regiment...go figure...its the Army... What the HELL
does ATAN mean??? And didn't you know that you should
be atleast an E-4 (pay-wise)before you decide to take
on a SHO as your daily driver??? ;-)
