[Shotimes] OT - Brake suggestions?

Since people on the TDI list seem to drive (and brake) for mileage instead
of performance, I figured I'd ask here if anyone has any suggestion for
brakes.

Performance-Friction doesn't make a size for my Jetta so they are out, Ford
doesn't make VW brakes so they are out, OEM VW pads suck and cost too much
and wear out quick (25,000 miles!) so they are out, any suggestions? This is
a daily driver but I want good performance as well, something at the level
of the Performance-Friction Carbon Metallic level.
