As others have said, the Quaiffe is only for the MTX. As for the Aamco vs.
Doug Lewis price difference, with Aamco, you get a longer warranty but with
Doug you get a transmission that is rebuilt correctly with the correct mods.
I believe he starts with a Ford remanufactured unit, which has all of Ford's
current engineering changes; he then completely disassembles it and installs
a Trans-Go kit as well as some other mods. I had mine for close to 85,000
miles of hard driving before I sold my '93 and it worked great! Huge
improvement over stock. Well worth the money.
