About three years ago a local shop sold me some LED versions of 3157 bulbs
made by APC (American Products). They were packaged as being for Ford cars
only. They mount just like a 3157 (waffle, I think it's called) but have 12
LEDs in place of incandescence.
I've tried them in several Fords. Contrary to the idea that LEDs should
consume less power, these APC bulbs seem to consume an awful lot of power.
Just swap 'em into a car and I'm blowing fuses. Also they have a rather
narrow angle of illumination.
I can't find anything through Google about the amp or angle rating of these
bulbs. They seem rather, uh, poor in both respects.
What kind of reputation does APC have, at least in the lighting area?
