Jim,  I'll jump in here too.  By comparison, I am not as bad off as Don or
Ian, but I do have a herniated disc in my lower back due to an accident
where an elderly lady rear-ended my SHO.  She was doing at least 45MPH
when she hit me.  Never slowed down.  I was 32 at the time.  Probably
still feeling immortal at that age.  2 weeks later I couldn't walk.  I had
an MRI and was diagnosed with a moderate herniation in lower back and was
borderline case for surgery.  I opted not to get cut.  So far it was a
good decision.  The massage therapy I received did help to resolve issues
up front.
