When I put the tokico's on the 92, the OEM motorcraft (SHO/Police specific)
were only a few thousand old (had replaced them recently at the time).
Informal "testing" in the garage was the tokico's actually were softer on
compression (more effort to compress the ford units the same distance) but
the tokico's were much slower to rebound, lots better damping action for a
stiffer rate spring.  I actually ran these with the stock springs for
awhile, and had no complaints.
