[Shotimes] Y-pipe install problem

I had a similar problem, and just ended up putting a skinny deep socket with
an extension (for leverage) over the "mislocated" stud, and bent it back into
place very gingerly. I often wondered how they got the flange on there to
start with, since the stud was so skewed.

  Can you not straighten them back, for example by heating them up first and
then bend them back to where they belong?

  I'm curious how they became skew in the first place, and didn't you have
trouble removing the flange also (assuming the studs were skew even before you
removed the y-pipe.)
