[Shotimes] fuel pressure issue

Guys;
My 94 MTX seems to be showing symptoms of either a failing fuel pump or the
check valve in the fuel pump system or both.
I'm want to change the pump (110k mi.now) before it fails me.
It will not start immediately unless you let the fuel pump run for a sec
before starting the motor, then it starts instantly.
I think this means the check valve is bad, right?
Is that built into the fuel pump part, or do I need to buy the whole fuel pump
/ sender assembly to make sure I get it?
Anyone know?
