I replaced the belt yesterday after I inspected all the pulleys, which all
(idler, AC and ALT) spin freely. Car started right up and ran fine. AC
blows cold, system was charging from best I could tell. At some point
yesterday, the new belt jumped off again!! No visible signs of damage. I
had one guy take a quick look at it. He came up with the same
observations I had about the pulleys spinning freely. So either I didn't
tighten the belt enough, possible since I didn't have a tension
measurement tool handy, or there's something else amiss like the crank
pulley might have an issue that I can't detect.
