Hey Frank...

Test it this way.  Jack up the right front corner (only).  Take off the tire.  Block
it up real good with a jackstand or two under the subframe, so that it CANNOT fall,
and then let it idle in first gear, and slide under the suspect area.  Use a long
screwdriver with the handle pressed against your ear, and listen for rough noise,
pressing the blade against solid non moving parts adjacent to the axle, like the
bracket for that bearing.  If you have a stethoscope, use that.  I'd go get one of
those anyway....they are VERY handy for diagnosing wierd noises from under the hood.

Be careful of moving parts, but this is a standard way to find noises.
