I had read all of the comments, and all have some merit. Bob & Scott brought
up some good points which I was going to comment on, and Jason also picked
up on those same comments here.

All dollar issues aside, the day in between is good, for as Jason & Scott
say, it would be a lot of running around.

The "a la carte" method for the Thursday track day will insure that more new
and/or young folks can attend. Personally, I would be less likely to go for
a $250 track day. Anyone can camp out or share hotel rooms to cut the cost.

For my IT job, a Thursday is tough to get off if I'm out-of-town. For the
current geological stuff, it works better. Probably the same for about
everyone. Either day can cause an issue.

I had some discussions with Bob in the past, when he was more involved with
TCCA. My feeling was that there was a greater gain to have them spend their
performance $$$ on suspension/brake/tire upgrades, and do track-type events
to use it. Performance mods on Vulcan V6s don't have much of a payback.
Getting them to do track events is a good thing, and the cost must be low.

Let's face it, the general SHO bunch tends to be a bit older, and can better
afford track days, and many are salaried folks that can arrange days off,
and/or use vacation/floating/personal days if required.

My rough observation is that about a third of the attendees go to both
events with a third only doing Gingerman, and another third only doing
Lapeer. Each event draws about 30 cars. There are folks that ay not attend
both because of the scheduling, but I know that some of the Gingerman folks
have no interest in the dragstrip, and vice-versa for the Lapeer folks.

Maybe if we nail down the dates at least three months in advance, it may
help folks with scheduling and planning.
