Frank,

The fix for the lamp out is almost rediculously simple.

Open up the glove compartment. Unscrew the "Lamp Out Warning" control module.

Then cut the headlight output wire on the output of the Lamp Out Warning module. On my 94 MTX it was output #8 (marked on the module) and the wire color code was R/LG.  But pull out your electrical diagnostics manual and make sure you cut the right wire. 

By cutting this wire, you only affect the lamp out warning for the headlights.  The lamp out warning for the rear lights and the brake lights is still working.

That's it!
