Sean,

The article in C&D says that the people are taking whatever is inside 
the car like phones, CD's, whatever is in the trunk, glove box, console, 
money in the coin holder, etc.  Flashlights anything they can easily 
move for a few bucks for drugs.  They may pull a stereo or CB/radar 
detector if it is easy, but the druggies aren't parting out the cars or 
even joy riding, just trying to get whatever they can to sell for the 
next hit.

Yea, there are still chop shops and people that steal nice 
wheels/tires.  Get your glass etched with your VIN and use a club, don't 
leave valuables visible or be seen putting them in the trunk.  None of 
this will stop a pro, but most thefts are opportunity thefts by amatuers.

AS much as I love SHO's, they aren't a hot target for the pros.
