[Zmagnette] Hyundai Wheel Rims FYI

David-
Numerous folk have said they used Hyundai steel wheels.
I have a car sitting on Hyundai Elantra alloys right now. These came off
2000/2002.

The MG front hubs are crudely cast, and may well sometimes interfere
with the Elantra wheels, but could easily be machined to clear. This
"machining" can be pretty crude - just grind the lumps off the hub
center - the MG wheels do not locate on the hubs at this spigot, but
with the wheel nut taper. In fact, I have found that the hubs are often
so eccentric that they cause balance problems which are difficult to
compensate, machining can only help.

There is a problem with the alloys, in that the steering tie rod ends
JUST interfere with the inner surface of rims, due to the thickness of
the alloy wheel. It can result in the car only going in one direction,
as the wheel will not rotate the other way! Possible that different rod
ends could cure this, or there may be some other variations. I decided
hat if necessary, I will modify the steering arm for clearance, as a
part of other mods.

Given how close this is, and from reports from Aussies and others that
they have used the steel wheels, I suggest you think about this some
more. I have been meaning to find some steel wheels but haven't gotten
to it.
