I have to admit that I am a hot rodder at heart also. A sports car has to
be exciting to me and engine performance is a big part of that. There are some
that think the only purpose of an Alpine is as a donor to a Tiger.
I am not that extream. I acknoledge that many enjoy a car for it's origonal
virtues. I have always desired the ultimate sleeper though, the humble
looking little car that rips the doors of all others who cross her path. The
weirder or more obscure the better. One of the better ones that I have seen
is the rotary Alpine that Tom Hall converted. The car held it's own very
well at the TU autocross in the hands of Tom's daughter Jennifer. Now that
is an Alpine I would certainly buy! As the owner of an older RX7 turbo I
will admit to a little bias. Frank's 2300 Ford? I'll have to judge it when
he is done but 150Hp is more to my liking that 80!
