I just dropped this "bait" to see what kind of reaction I would get
and you are the first one to bite!

Yes, Ramon and I have been in contact frequently over our Alpines. I
just bought the video of "To Catch a Thief" with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly
to see her wheel an Alpine ('50's version) through what looks like the Monaco
area, being chased by a Citroen. I've determined that my Alpine *was*
originally the same colour (Alpine Mist) as the one in the film, and because
it has old badges of Monaco and Cote d'Asure on the badge bar, I like to say
it was *the* car used in the film. Ha! Ha!

I posted a GIF image of my Alpine in the archives of the British Cars
group if anyone wants to see an *early* Alpine. The engine wasn't in the best
of shape when I bought it last year and recently found out it is actually out
of a 48-50 Sunbeam-Talbot "80". I have located another engine of the right
vintage and size in NM and arranging delivery to NS. The body is in excellent
shape and hopefully I can get this engine rebuilt before summer is over and
get some enjoyment out of it.

I've also recently located a '54 saloon which can also make a parts
car if it is too far gone. Before I "pass on", I hope to have one of each
body style to pass on to my siblings. Two out of three is not bad!

Regards,
Bob
