My early MK1 Tiger had rivets there, but I just slipped on new stuff years
ago and it stayed by itself...
Now that you mention it, I think there may have been clips there to hold
the dash pad to the seam under the rubber/felt... I'll try to remember
to take a look tonight..

Yes, I know exactly what you mean.. mine does that too. I get several
months between having to re-adjust it though. Locktight would be my best
guess to fix it.. I always think about it but when the door rufuses to
latch, I am usually miles from the garage... I carry a BIG screwdriver
in the console to fix it! Don't you just love them LBCs.. On mine,
I have the rubber tube attached to the felt type trim there (not original)
and it is really too thick so the door won't close all the way without
adjusting it too tight. Lubricating it might make it worse I would think.
