Ray,

        The LRX designates:

L = left hand drive
R = roadster
X = export

        The R must be a hangover from when the were saloons and coupes.
"Proper" Saloons had the designation LSX. My "proper" Alpine is LRX and the
"proper" drophead coupe is a LCX - "C for Coupe.

        Hope that helps explain tis part of the serial numbers.
