Be sure you put this big nut back on before you bash the hub puller
with your BFH. I made the mistake of leaving the nut off once, and
the end of the axle spread out from the force of the hammer blows. I
was never able to get the nut back on...oops. Fortunately for me
this was on a parts car and not my "real" car, so I was saved the
hassle of finding the right sized die to fix it, or swapping the
axle. Moral: put that nut back on, and make sure outboard face of
the nut is flush with the end of the axle. Here's a crude drawing of
where the nut should be before you bash.
