Yes, actually when I got my Imp properly aligned at a tirecompany
called "Euromaster" they first asked how many people were normally
in the car and they put that weight on the seats !
Another thing (this will probably apply to Imps only):
As our roads are made of tarmac and this summer was very hot the
result was that tracks were formed in the road causing the Imp
to wander about.
The Imp has a negative toe in, which means that the wheels are
slightly pointing towards each other, also the tire pressure front
/back is an uncommon: 15/30 psi.
(This is done to give it more grip and better stability at higher
speeds taking the weight distribution (rear engine) into account)
With this setting the effect of wandering got worse as first
the left wheel is in the left road track then the right wheel
starts pulling until it's in the track and vice versa.
To improve on this I had the toe-in removed (0 degrees) so the wheels
are parallel and this works much better.
Also take into account that the spec for the settings was based
on axial tires not on radials which have different behavior anyway.
As a nice side effect my tire wear on the front got less too !
So maybe the Alpine benifits from this too, what do you think ?
P.S. Thanks for sending the Alpine airbox info !!
Regards, Bert
